Although Orlandriannah was not born or raised in the Coachella Valley, she is no stranger to the Coachella Valley Art Scene. You can find Orlandriannah at almost all the music and art shows snapping photos, conversating with the local community and immersing herself in all that the beautiful desert has to offer her. Similar to the desert’s beautiful sunsets, Orlandriannah’s photographs burst with color and posses a beauty that all can admire and relate to on a human level. Coming physically from all the way around the globe, and now featured virtually over the world wide web, Orlandriannah gives us an interesting perspective on the Coachella Valley art scene and artists from around the desert that we should keep an eye on.

How do you feel the area in which you were raised effected/influenced you as an artist?
I feel that being raised in multiple areas has influenced me to be extreamly open minded, and wide range when it not only comes to photography but any type of art.
What is it like to be a young artist in the Coachella Valley?
Honestly…Hard. Very hard. You really have to stick out, and not just that but have a voice, and have it be heard through your work.
What inspired you to go into photography?
A heap of things! Mainly humans, and our infatuation of what beauty is. Or what we were taught what beauty should be.
Who are your biggest influences?
My influences are through music, Odd aye? Radiohead, Bjork, and mainly above all, Muse.
What are your specialties?
I think…giving people what they like, a true portrait of themselves…No air brushing or photoshoping anything, just true.
What type of equipment/photo editing programs do you use?
I use Mac OsX system, jut to bring out true colours, like blues, reds, ect. Or I just shoot film.
Who are some of the most interesting people you have photographed?
I think…A young fellow named Johnny, he’s a great photographer, he asked me to do some portraits of him, which means a lot, as another photographer…because we’re in the same field, and appreciate each others work.
Who/what do you want/wish to photograph?
Sir Matthew Bellamy of Muse, Or Thom Yorke, of Radiohead, or Bjork, haha. I’ve photographed them before, at concerts, but never, on my own set, that would be..WOW.
What has been your most difficult photo session and why?
I did a woman’s family portraits….there was no communication what so ever, I wasn’t sure what to do, they would look at the photos I took, and just say, “Oh I don’t like how I look” when the photo was great, haha, so at least I now know what families are like.
What projects are you currently working on?
I’m working on a project that illistrates woman, and men, well i guess people all alike, with a common connection in our day and age which is technology…(still looking for models) and I’m brain storming through heaps of ideas.
What can we expect from you in the future?
To rule the universe….But really, I just hope that more people can be apart of my work, and would love to get involved.
Where can we contact you? Website? Blog? Flicker? Photobucket? http://www.myspace.com/okinowaphotography http://okinowa.deviantart.com/
Any advice for upcoming photographers?
Yes….If you’re serious about your work….Don’t hold back.
