30 Art Students from the Coachella Valley Endoure “3 HOURS”

A One Night Student Exhibition – September 24th 2008 at JANSSENARTSPACE

Palm Springs, CA (Sept. 8th 2008) Thirty students from around the valley are taking
the desert art scene by storm in a one-night art exhibition entitled “3 Hours”. On September 20th, students will gather and have three hours to paint anything they like onto two by two foot pieces of wood. The pieces will then be on exhibition at Janssenartspace on Wednesday, September 24th, from 6-9pm. Participating schools include, Palm Springs High, Cathedral City High, Desert Hot Springs High, Ramon Academy, Desert Hot Springs Alternative Center and Mt. San Jacinto Continuation School.

Coordinators Louisa Castrodale, visual & performing arts specialist, and Steven Janssen, owner of Janssenartspace are joining forces to give our next generation of creative minds an opportunity to experience the excitement of showing their work in a professional gallery.

“Our goal is to open doors for these very talented, young like-minded individuals and hopefully give them momentum to pursue their careers in the art field. When I was a junior in high-school art class, I had a piece of mine submitted into a student group show at, then, Otis Parsons College of Art & Design in L.A., and that experience gave me the confidence to pursue my career as a professional artist. This is what we want to provide for these talented individuals.”

Refreshments provided by Koffi. Janssenartspace is located at 333 s Indian Canyon Drive at Baristo, Downtown Palm Springs. (760) 864.9922 www.stevenjanssen.com
