I want to invite you all to a party that I will be hosting (well, 1/2 of it) this Saturday (March 14th).

And just in case you weren’t familiar with some of the artists, or wanted to get a better understanding of what the vibe of the show was going to be like… I got the artist breakdown right here for you.

It’s going to be fun. Come through. Say hi.

In the main room (downstairs):

Headlining act + hip hop’s hometown heroes

The headlining act is Themselves. Jel and Dose from Anticon are gonna give you something to really sink your teeth into. Oh, did I mention that they are playing at Coachella this year? Do I need to say any more? I mean… really…

The Sufakatas make a name for themselves last year in the Coachella Valley with their free downloable EP and a couple music videos. Marketing geniuses. Nah, they are actually pretty talented and if you are a self-proclaimed “backpacker” then you don’t want to miss this set. Sufakatas rep the valle hard, yup.

One of my favorite electrohiphop-comedy bands to be created in the desert, Organic Junk Fude, will be performing!! This is after a couple years of being off the stage. I am really excited to see what they have in store for us and what has been building up.

This here is Griefshare. He is a man of super powers. Although he rests his head in San Diego, he still rocks show and has a big following in the Coachella Valley. Griefshare is a one-man-(non)band. Shall we classify him as electronic? I hate to classify Griefshare.

Provoked and Dialect (not pictured) will be rocking a hip hop set for you to throw your hands up to and rep your city. Provoked is not just a hip hop MC, he’s more like a community organizer that has been making moves here in the valley for some time. Come show your hometown hero some love and support.

On the ones and twos will be Planet Lunch. Let me tell you a bit about Planet Lunch. He is most definitely an artist’s artist. Every artist I know really digs and respects the art that Planet Lunch does. Which is why he fits so perfectly into this lineup. Like bread and butter. Like peanut butter to jelly.

in the Sky Box Room (upstairs):

The CVAS Blog in the hhhhooouuuuusssseee! Come kick it with me and my crew! I will be taking pictures, voice recording, and youtubing for the Party Recap. I am also going to be decking out this room! So you gotta come check it out. It’s going to be fun. I guarantee fun.

Headlining in the Sky Box room (upstairs) will be Alf Alpha. As you may have remembered from the the interview last week, Alf Alpha just released his first album in Japan. So, come celebrate the album release with the man himself. And if you have been to an Alf Alpha party, then you know how he gets down…. can we sayyy…. hip hop’s golden era? You just never know, it’s freestyle party rocking in it’s purist form.

As you all know, Alf Alpha makes dope beats. As as maybe some of you didn’t know, Speak and Pheo rap on his beats. These three (Virgo, Pisces, and Taurus) are all very compatible. But, the magic here lies in the complex brain of the 34th best rapper alive, MC Speak. Let me tell you. If you are in to that cutting-edgy, raw, avant garde, Beatles, Kim Kardashian, super artsy fartsy kinda stuff then Speak is your man. Keep an eye out for wigs, lazors, razors, and sparkles.

Part 3 to the Alf Alpha, Speak and Pheo due is… Pheo. But don’t get it twisted ladies… he is not pheo as pheo translates to ugly in Spanish. This man is gorgeous! I will be the first to say that I think he is the LL Cool J of our time. With that being said, need I say more? Man… is it hot in here or is it just me?

Oooohhhh… come oooonnnn. Do I need to even say anything?? It’s Fresh Mess! Power couple of the 760! If you don’t know about them, then you must be living under a rock or don’t have the Internet… which is kinda the same thing. Anyways, this is the electro couple that shares the same love they have with each other with each crowd that they rock. They will be closing the night. So make sure you’re all boozed up and ready to shake it.
