Palm Springs Photo Festival
The annual Palm Springs Photo Festival is an intense week-long event for professional, emerging and serious advanced amateur photographers. As a special benefit to museum members, the organizers of the Photo Festival will allow museum members to attend any of the evening symposiums, held in the Annenberg Theater. The festival will present an important symposium each day and will include important and influential panelists from throughout the country. Presentations will be daily from 5:00-6:30 p.m.
On Monday, March 30 at 9:15 p.m. Daniell Cornell (Deputy Director for Art and Senior Curator at the Palm Springs Art Museum) will present a lecture on the museum’s exhibition Robert Mapplethorpe: Portraits, followed by a talk by Duane Michaels. All museum members are encouraged to attend this late-night event, which will be followed by late-night reception in the museum’s Marcuse Sculpture Garden.
