Alright, so we all know that the Phish Festival 8 is confirmed and it is going down in our hometown on October 30 – November 1st. Us Coachella Vallians are so lucky, we really are. Not only do the music and culture curious people of the Coachella Valley conveniently have this in our backyards, but the city government and businesses are probably ecstatic to have a guaranteed money-maker come October! Big smiles all around.
So, yeah, as I was saying… we all know everything I just stated above…. but!, what I bet you didn’t know is that the Coachella Valley Art Scene is going to be working for the Phish Festival 8!
Similar to the work that we did at the Coachella Music and Arts Festival (ie The Coachella Art Studios), this time we will be reinventing ourselves to cater to the concert goers for the upcoming Phish Festival. We will be creating a creative zone in the campground area where campers can come and make art, souvenirs, and additions to their Halloween costumes for free. This creative zone that we will be manifesting will be open to all ages, all free thinkers, all good vibes. Come join the arts and crafts community for a little early morning pick-me-up before heading into the Phish festival!
And…. to all there out there wondering how they can become involved…
If you, or someone you know, has the most amazing crafting/teaching skills that you think would be of interest to the most amazing Phish fans/campers, please email me. I am open to hear any and all ideas. Know that all art supplies, camping, and concert will be compensated. Please, only serious and local people email for more information:

And for all those living under a rock, or have been wandering out in the serene desert for the past month or so…. “Phish will celebrate Halloween this year with a three-day fest called Festival 8 in Indio, California, the band revealed on their official Website last night. The concerts will run from October 30th to November 1st, with the band’s October 31st night show reviving a Halloween tradition for the first time since 1998: As in years past, Phish will perform another band’s album in its entirety. Festival 8, named because it’s the band’s eighth festival since 1996, marks Phish’s first festival since 2004’s Coventry in Vermont, and the band’s first-ever festival anchored on the West Coast.

Tickets for Festival 8 go on sale next Monday, July 27th, at 10 a.m. PST. Tickets will cost $199, plus a $1 donation fee and a $15 parking pass for each vehicle. As Phish reiterate in their comically written FAQ section of their Festival 8 website, there are no one-day tickets available for the event. “We are pleased to support this event,” said Glenn Southard, Indio City Manager. “It will bring thousands of visitors to the City of Indio and to the Coachella Valley and will provide a much-needed boost to our local economy. We look forward to a great event!”” – Daniel Kreps for the Rolling Stones Magazine

See you there!
