As many of you have Wednesday off to celebrate Veteran’s Day, I thought it would be nice to feature a little something to do tomorrow in the spirit of Veteran Day.
I received an email from Christian Chalifour, the Music Director and Conductor of the Coachella Valley Symphony today and he kindly informed me of a free event going on tomorrow in Indian Wells.
This is what Mr. Chalifour had to share with the Coachella Valley Art Scene:
Tomorrow the Symphony will be performing for the Veteran’s Day ceremony in Indian Wells, in front of the civic center. It’s our first concert of the season (though a short one), but it’s fun and very enjoyable. We’ll be playing with a contingent from the Buddy Rogers Youth Symphony….”

…We start playing about 9:30 am while people are arriving and settling, and the ceremony continues 10 to 11 am.

Music SElections: Before ceremony selected from: Hornpipe, Hallelujah Chorus, Hungarian Dance No. 5, Hymn to Joy, Rondeau, Moonlight Serenade, Simple Gifts, Colonel Bogey March, American Patrol, Liberty Bell March. During ceremony: Armed Forces Salute (no INSERT, just play as originally written). End of ceremony: America the Beautiful, Stars & Stripes Forever.”

This is a free open-to-the-public event.
