This week the Coachella Valley celebrates it’s love for fashion.

Struct your stuff and show ’em what you got.
It’s all about structure and attitude.
Fashion shows are going on in the cities of Palm Desert (more specifically, El Paseo), and Palm Springs.
There are plenty of after parties to each fashion show as well.
Here are a listing of the following fashion shows going on in the desert this week:


Designers from Around the World, Inspired by the Universe.

Fashions from designers from Islands of the World Fashion Week in the Bahamas include winning collections from Madagascar, the Bahamas and Trinidad. 7 p.m. • $50

FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising Debut 2010

Top graduating students present their collections in the West Coast design juggernaut Debut 2010. See what’s in the future of fashion design by the leaders in their field. Wine, hors d’oeuvres. 7 p.m. • $50


Men’s Fashion Night

Featuring fashion from J.T. Holahan. The “Guru of Swim” presents his newest collection of swimwear, board shorts and one-of-a-kind shirts for men and adds a little more spice with women’s bikinis from Lucille V. Wagner. Wine, hors d’oeuvres. 7 p.m. • $50

Designer of the Week Fashion Show

Couture fashion designer Colleen Quen presents a runway show with a collection that reveals her influences in dramatic style: the radiance of the natural world, impressionist paintings, and modern architecture. Wine, hors d’oeuvres. 7:30 p.m. • $75


Official closing event

Melissa Morgan Fine Art at 73-040 El Paseo will host an evening celebrating art, fashion, food and wine featuring photo-based art by Peter Burnz and Ben Cope along with runway fashions created by members of American Society of Interior Design and fashion presented by BoxEIGHT. 6-9 p.m. • $55

Live fire grilling and wine and microbrewery tasting featuring 10 celebrity chef demonstrations; 30 of the top grill, brick oven and live fire restaurants throughout Southern California; and more than 25 wines, beers, and lagers. Noon-5 p.m. • $55
