Global Alchemy Forum Poets and Artists Collaborate at The Red Arrow Gallery

Local area artists, poets, and College of the Desert students gather weekly in La Quinta to express their thoughts and to receive feedback. Artists contribute artwork to inspire poets to participate in collaborative artworks combining the written word and art.

“Our goal is to collect stories and poems from around the world so we can share our common human condition and provide inspiration to those going through difficult times,” says co-founder, Maria Elena B. Mahler.

“ln order to help foster a sense of community, we have created the Global Alchemy Forum, a weekly salon in La Quinta, where poets and artists meet to share poetry and artwork. This collaborative effort is symbolic of how people can globally work together to create a greater cooperative community.”

The artwork from the salon will be on display at the Red Arrow Gallery in Joshua Tree from March 26th to April 1st. Poets will be performing live readings at the opening event, March 26th at 6:30pm.

Mahler and fellow founders are working on an art installation to be on view at the Joshua Tree Music Festival in May. The installation will display art and poetry collected from around the world and invite audience participation at the festival.
