Ahhh… the days when being held by Ronald McDonald seemed somewhat normal and slightly fun. The days when all the palm trees in Indio still stood tall and healthy in the fields. The days before the tracks homes bulldozed them over. This weekend celebrates many people’s birthdays in the desert who are young artists or community organizers. It’s a great time to reflect back upon your life and feel proud of yourself for all that you have accomplished thus far, and what bricks you are laying down to build up for yourself in the future. The best thing in life are the special occasions to celebrate it… and this weekend in the desert gives you an opportunity to do just that. Peep the flyers below to get in the know..
HAPPY BIRTHDAY 5000 PHOTOGRAPHY (aka Jonny 5000, Johnny and/or Juan Galvan)!!!!!!! The penis flyer was made just for you!!! Kylie Knight did a great job, didn’t she??? As crackin’ as the flyer is will be as crackin’ as the party! The headlining band is not just coming from another city…. they are coming from another country! Get off Facebook and go on Google to do a little research. Also… please do know that this party, my friends, marks the begining of The Ghost Channel, as their event throwing addiction started about a year ago when they organized a show for 5000 Photography ‘s B Day party. So…. go support!!!
Feel like moving? Feel like grooving? Feel like swaying? Feel like par-lay-ing? It’s a feel good music show at Space 120, just down the street (yes, walking distance) from J Dee’s Landing (where the flyer above this one is happening). Don’t act like you don’t know where Space 120 is. Old school Funk, Latin, R&B vibes will be present in the building
Taken from the Ace Hotel website: “We’re starting a new film night with rarely seen gems, every Thursday night (except Thanksgiving) in the Commune. These are neglected masterpieces you won’t see anywhere else, curated by John Steppling – a buff who knows the annals of rare film like no one else. Come nerd out, have a drink and catch these on the glimmering big screen while you can. Here’s the line-up for the next month. Stay tuned for updates on future films. And add this to your calendar on Facebook. TWO LANE BLACKTOP (Monte Hellman, 1971) A car race to nowhere… Called the purest road movie ever made (Richard Linklater). Dennis Wilson, James Taylor and the great Warren Oats.” www.acehotel.com/palmsprings

DJ Howie Pyro at the Ace Hotel’s Amigo Room…. he’s known to really lay the smack down on those 45’s. This just might be the after party to the broadway debut of…. A Flear in Her Ear.
Opening night of A Flea in Her Ear – FRIDAY Night! At College of the Desert! Don’t miss out!
Nothing like the sultry age of glamor. Right?? Well, it’s brought back to real life this weekend at images by Gideon. Glam it up , baby.
Stronghold is back! The monthly that promotes good vibes and old friends. Local reggae DJs rock the tables and the local babes rock their hips. Holla.
bujwah in the building! One of my favorite brands from El Centro. Good to see them back in the game. And even better to see The Growlers and Slipping Into Darkness on the same lineup once again. This show is going to be wild. If you are looking to head south… make sure to head here.
And if you are looking to go to Los Angeles, make a point to RSVP to this party because it’s going to be bumpin’ bumpin’. That’s for sure. J.Rocc and DJ Day. Mmmmhmmmm…
