This Wednesday is a special Wednesday…
…because it is not only the official day that everyone finally recovers from Coachella Fest, but it is also just a couple days before the Big 4, and (quite possibly more importantly) it’s also all the pot smoker’s national holiday… 4/20. So many things to celebrate, so little time.
To get lost in the concept of having no concept of time, we share with you on this Happy 420 Holiday two events that we think would be cool to go to. Both are reasonably priced, AND, if you don’t slack it too hard you can go to both!
Check it out:
The Grateful Dead Movie Event
Both the Regal Stadium 9 in Palm Springs and Century Theatres at The River in Rancho Mirage are screening “The Grateful Dead Movie Event,” featuring performances from October 1974 at San Francisco’s Winterland Ballroom, just prior to the the band taking a two-year sabbatical.
Don’t miss your chance to see a flashback concert experience with the Grateful Dead on the big screen. Fathom and Rhino Entertainment present “The Grateful Dead Movie” in movie theaters nationwide for a one night event on Wednesday, April 20, at 7:30 p.m. (local time). This special event will include exclusive never-before-seen interviews with Jerry Garcia and Bob Weir conducted during the filming of this legendary production over 35 years ago. “The Grateful Dead Movie” has not been available in wide theatrical distribution since its initial release in 1977.
Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. screenings are $12.50 and are available at the theater box office.
Century Theatres at The River is at 71-800 Highway 111, Rancho Mirage, (760) 836-1940. Palm Springs Stadium 9 is at 789 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way, Palm Springs, (760) 323-4466.
