TONIGHT (and Saturday morning) is the

Palm Springs Student Short Film Fest

and we are really excited about it!!…

Every year we look forward to checking out what the future film makers of the Coachella Valley have to offer.  Students from more than 15 Coachella Valley High Schools and Middle Schools submit their films to this festival to see their vision and hard work projected onto the big screen.  Being able to showcase their films in their home community is not only great for all their friends and family to go support, but also an opportunity for the community to have the “first look” at the up and coming creatives and visionaries from their own backyard.  And not only is this a film festival FOR students, but it’s also produced BY students.  It’s a grass-roots, from the ground up learning experience , and that is what it’s all about!

The Palm Springs Student Short Film Festival is a Non-Profit Organization in association with The Camelot Theatres and The Arts Institute at Palm Springs High School.  The original creators of the Palm Springs Student Short Festival were Anna and Nora Hammond, who have both moved on to college.  This year, High School students Alex Mandinach and Jonathan Phung have eagerly taken the reins again for this year’s Palm Springs Student Short Film Festival.
