Dear Coachella Valley Art Scene Readers,

Hello!  And welcome back to a very short week here on The Coachella Valley Art Scene.  It’s a short week because we have been have been very busy with our personal lives and day jobs (yeah, we have those too).  As many, or very few, of you may know… the blog is ran by one woman and a few contributors.  So, when the times get going (on this end of the computer), the times get tough (on your end of the computer).  Good news is, we just wrapped up our 2 week long gig (working 10 hours a day) and are ready to get back to blogging.  So get ready to get back to reading!

We are starting this week off very late, and it will be very short, but there is a good amount of information still to be shared.  This week we can look forward to  a few very cool things such as….

An art party to celebrate the debut of the new solo artist featured at the CVAS (yes, that’s The Coachella Valley Art Scene abbreviated) Art Gallery inside Epidemic Skateboard Shop this Sunday.  Every few months we pick a new artist to feature in our gallery space.  For our Fall months we have chosen Ron Cameron as our featured artist who is most famous for his design work with RVCA, Thrasher Magazine, Toy Machine and many more.  We are really hype on his presence in the desert and are inviting you all to come this Sunday to check out his latest work!  You can RSVP to the event and get more details by clicking here: http://www.facebook.com/events/232656173471234/

Also this Sunday, the Palm Springs Art Museum will be opening their doors to any and all people who are interested in check out the museum for FREE!  The Palm Springs Art Museum is great and we really encourage everyone to go check out the space on this special day once a month called their, Free 2nd Sundays!

Another art gallery that is having an opening exhibition this weekend is Melissa Morgan Fine Art, in addition to an underground art show happening at SCRAP Gallery.  SCRAP Gallery in Indio will be hosting an Art Prohibition show that will only feature works of art that are under $50.  More info on both of those this week.

There just might be some other random information that I will throw up on the blog…. all depends on how much time I have.  Otherwise, you can just look forward to it next week.

However, there is always one post you can count on every week, and that’s Things 2 Do Thursday.  It’s the post that has been posting for the past 4 years!  We like to party….

Oh!  And before we forget…. we want to remind/inform everyone that The Coachella Valley Art Scene and Alf Alpha will be hosting a NEW YEARS EVE party at the Ace Hotel this year!!! Come bring in 2012 with your artsy buddies, crafty critters and dance floor divas!  You can already RSVP here: http://www.facebook.com/events/122049611241789/

Big shout out and thank you to everyone who has continued to read and support the CVAS!  We have been getting very busy with our (freelance) work schedule  and sometimes it’s hard to juggle our hobby and our bank account.  Luckily for us, we have an amazing readership and are thankful for your loyalty.  So, thank YOU.  You continue to inspire.

Sincerely,
