One of the Coachella Valley Art Scene’s favorite annual community events, Hue Fest, is just around the corner!

The Hue Fest is brought to you by 30 youth residents of Coachella, Indio, and Mecca.  Guiding them along the way are the non-profit organizations, Building Healthy Communities, RAICES, Esperanza Youth Alliance, Bienestar, CVUSD, Coachella Valley High School, Desert Mirage High School, The City Of Coachella, Coachella Boys and Girls Club, GLOW, RCOE and last but not least F.I.R.M.E.  This is a completely youth ran and curated event – and for that very reason we LOVE IT.

By giving the youth the power to run the logistics, the marketing, book the entertainment and curate the art, Hue Fest is not just aiming to entertain the younger community, but to also educate, inspire and empower them.  Thus putting the whole culture of their community on stage for everyone to embrace and experience.

Hue Fest 2012 will be the 2nd Annual and we are looking forward to watching their progression.  It will be taking place at the same location, Dateland Park on Bagdag Street in Coachella.  Date set to be April 28, 2012.

Even though Hue Fest is ran by Coachella natives, they are interested in working artists from across the Coachella Valley!  If you are interested in performing, displaying art, or even selling merchandise please read below:

About the Hue Festival

Join the youth of Building Healthy Communities (BHC) Eastern Coachella Valley, and their affiliate partners, Saturday, April 28th for their second annual HUE FESTIVAL in the City of Coachella along Bagdad Street & Dateland Park. This festival is designed to showcase the talent and creativity of youth in the Eastern Coachella Valley.

This youth-led event is completely FREE to the community, and has ultimately set the stage for a day that celebrates various genres of music, performance, arts and culture activities, films, public art, healthy food, sustainability and much more…

The success of this event is credited largely to our partners, who lend their time, financial support and expertise to support the event.

This year the Hue is set to be bigger and BETTER than last year. Lineup and more details coming soon!
