Dear Coachella Valley Art Scene Readers,

Hello!  Welcome back to another fabulous week here on The Coachella Valley Art Scene!  This week got started off  little late, so let’s just dive right in…into a pool of ice cold blog posts…sounds refreshing, right?

First things first, big thank you to everyone who made it out to the “There’s No Place Like Home” art show this past Sunday inside the CVAS Art Space of Epidemic Skate Shop in Palm Desert!  It was not only a showcase of good art and cutting edge craft, but was also full of good energy and a great crowd. We couldn’t have asked for a better evening!  Thank you, thank you, thank you….  Event Recap from the show coming this week!!

Speaking of the CVAS Art Space at Epidemic Skateboard Shop in Palm Desert…. we have gotten so much feedback from this art space that we decided to come up with a way to incorporate all of you.  The next show that we will be organizing is titled, Coachella Valley Captured.  It’s a community photography project that invites everyone to submit photos that document anything and everything that is Coachella Valley related.  The due date to turn in these photos isn’t until September 30th, however, don’t slack it!  Early bird always gets the worm!  More details such as submission guidelines and contact information can be found here: http://coachellavalleycaptured.tumblr.com/.

The Coachella Valley Art Scene has even more good news for you….this Saturday is finally World Famous!!!!!!!!!!  Yes!  Bust out your dancing shoes and tap into your creative forces as Alf Alpha is ready to rock you all night long on the dance floor and The Coachella Valley Art Scene has tables full of free art supplies for you to craft up your personalized party hat to swag out with.  World Famous is always free to attend!  All you have to be is 21+ and show up between the hours of 10:00pm and 2:00am.  However, we recommend you showing up around 11:00pm just to be safe…you don’t wanna miss your “jam” and/or stand in line too long for a cold brew.  It’s going to be a fun night as we are celebrating the fact that Alf Alpha and yours truly (The Coachella Valley Art Scene / Coachella Art Studios) got booked at SS Coachella!!  We are so excited and want to share it with you all.  So swing by!  You can RSVP here: http://www.facebook.com/events/441202702563985/ or, just show up!!

Speaking of SS Coachella….man oh man… we are so hype and honored to be apart of it!  Whose going?!?!  I know we announced it over all of our Social Media networks that we would be there rocking our Boats n’ Crafts on-board activity all six days, but it’s time for an official blog post about it.  Sometimes it’s hard to write about it because it’s like preparing for the unknown (never been a cruise, to the Bahamas/Jamaica, or crafted on a boat)….and sometimes my fingers and thoughts just can’t keep up with the amount of enthusiasm that is practically causing a mini-implosion from within!  Yeah, it’s that exciting for me… 😉  Hope to see some CVAS readers on ship!

This week there are some really great Free Films be screened around the Coachella Valley, by way of Palm Springs, to be more specific.  You can either catch  free foreign film at the Palm Springs Art Museum on Thursday or you can Forever Marilyn come to life right in front of your eyes for the classic Marilyn Monroe movie screenings after dark on Friday.  More information on both films coming this week, in separate posts, of course.

And just in case you can’t make those screenings, The Coachella Valley Art Scene composes our own series of clips of moving images.  We select the best from YouTube and Vimeo that have ties, themes, and settings in the Coachella Valley.  This blog post is called Commercial Break, and it just might be our favorite one to blog about.

Everything else that we will be blogging about this week can be filed somewhere under Random or Things 2 Do Thursdays.  You just never know what we will or won’t post on the CVAS…it’s up to you to stay tuned in!

Big thank you to everyone who continues to read and support The Coachella Valley Art Scene.  We have a lot of fun stuff in store for you and can’t what to share it with you!

Sincerely,

sarah@thecoachellavalleyartscene.com
