The Tamale Festival

Okay, if you live in the desert – or anywhere within a 2 hour radius from it – and have no attended the Tamale Festival then you are missing out!  We looooove food festivals.  There is an art to making an amazing tamale, trust me.  If you want to study, learn, and taste this craft then I suggest you show up!

Can these tamales be better than your abuelas?!  There’s only one way to find out.

Also, to be noted, there are many local vendors that sometimes have cool stuff to check out, air-brushed shirts being on the top of that list.  Oh!  And let’s not forget the fabulous Ferris wheel and other carnival attractions!

See you there!

La Quinta Cove Art Studio Tour

We didn’t even know about this La Quinta Cove Art Studio Tour until we got a Facebook invite from William Cain to come check out his.  Oh, all the fun things you learn on Facebook!…

Well, this seems like a really cool event.  However, this is the only information we have on it.

Anyone know where we can get more information??  If so, please email us asap!

Carolers under Forever Marilyn in Palm Springs

Who says just because we don’t have snow (and/or rain, or any other type of weather besides sunny) that we can’t have carolers?!? Sunshine is actually the perfect weather to carol in, just ask the people who go door to door!

This Saturday afternoon some fabulous carolers will be singing their hearts out under the Forever Marilyn statue in Palm Springs!  So, for all you East Coasters feeling a little home-sick – here is your chance.

We have a feeling this will be a great mini-performance.

The 21st Annual Palm Springs Festival of Lights Parade

This has to be one of the most entertaining parades that happen all year long in the Coachella Valley, the Palm Springs Pride Parade coming in a very close 2nd.

I don’t know about you, but we sure do get caught up in the glamour and fascination of all the twinkling lights.  It’s hard not to, okay.  Can’t blame us.  Plus, it’s always fun to see people and organizations within the community coming together for a night of celebration and holiday cheer.

Make sure to come early, because it seems as if the rest of the Coachella Valley has the same soft spot for flashy lights.  😉

Free Admission to the Palm Springs Art Museum!!

I love both the Palm Springs Art Museum and the Palm Springs Art Museum-Palm Desert, and I especially love them when they are free to attend!  If you haven’t visited the Palm Desert location it’s a must – an excellent, contemporary collection that our CVAS readers will love and appreciate.

Take some time to check it out this weekend!
