This past weekend The CVAS Blogsquad had the opportunity to attend the Palm Springs Fine Art Fair (PSFAF). In it’s only second year of production, this fair has quickly won our hearts over and is now an art-spectacular event that we are looking forward to attending every year.
What I am particularly interested in is to see how this fair will develop over the years. For instance, this year the art fair really magnified their spotlight on local artists and galleries. They also had intimate talks, parties, events and tours. Even though there were over 40 galleries that exhibited at the Palm Springs Convention Center, the large scale event still kept a smaller, hometown feel in tact. And I absolutely loved that quality.
However, it is to be noted that even though it kept a “hometown feel”, it is difficult to compare the Palm Springs Fine Art Fair to any other large art fair that taken place in the desert and this is because the PSFAF is actually….well, how do we say it….rad! The entire body of work inside the Convention Center truly appealed to a cutting-edge, hip, and fun audience. Just take a look at the photos that I managed to snap while inside to see for yourself.
Per usual when surrounded around great art, often times I get caught up in the beauty of it all and forget to take photos, so please excuse me if I didn’t get everything….what I did manage to capture inspired me, and I hope they inspire you as well.
All photos below are taken with my iPhone and are for your enjoyment. The purpose is to inform the readers of The Coachella Valley Art Scene of simply how cool and cutting edge this art fair is and encourage you guys to get out and support happenings like this in the Coachella Valley so that they happen more often!
So, make sure to check these photos out and if you like what you see….come next year and support the art scene of the Coachella Valley (and, okay, The Coachella Valley Art Scene…shameless plus, sorry).

We loved this opening piece! Very appropriate for Palm Springs, and the 80 degree weather that day.
All the galleries were nicely tucked away in their cubicles. There was plenty of walking space and never really a crowd, which is very nice when you are looking at art.
The pieces were bright, bold and beautiful.
Lots of local art galleries were present!!…you know we loved that!
More local love…
One of our favorite installations was the performance art installation!
It was so funny to see some people play along, and some people get pissed off.
Speaking of Coachella Valley….this was the first piece to greet everyone in the lobby as they entered the Palm Springs Fine Art Fair.
Yes, all photos featured in this post were taken by me for you with my iPhone!
Every spectrum of art was featured at the Palm Springs Fine Art Fair, the photos below are just the ones that personally inspired me that I thought would be nice to share with you.
If I had to pick a favorite piece, it would be these fabulous light art installations!!! These photos are rad, but do not give them justice at all what-so-ever.
(caught in the matrix)
How do they do it?!?!?!??!?!?!?!
Artists are genius.
Love.
Again, these photos do no justice for these light installations.
Another piece of work that caught my eye was this bas ass sculpture. Check out the welding on this bad boy! Also, desert native animal…that’s a plus.
On the topic of animals…I couldn’t get over this piece either. Yes, those are all pages from books. Truly impressive and mind blowing.
This piece just reminded me of Palm Springs….right?!?!
This is another piece of art that you must see in person to get the whole effect. I was obsessed with this! It really made my eyes hurt for about an hour after getting really close to it, my eyes didn’t know what to focus on.
If you haven’t figured it out by now…. I am a craft fan and fanatic! So, this fits right up my alley.
Brillant!!
I was taken back by the pure perfection in this piece. Every detail was just incredible.
One of my favorites. This artist had two other pieces that I guess I liked so much that I forgot to photograph…that happens sometimes. The other two I liked even more than this one…just all around dope!
Can’t get enough of it…
Back to my craft fascination. This to me….well, I almost bought this one.
Lots of really impressive photography exhibits, I loved all of them. This one was just different from the rest.
Yo! This art fair was not short on sculpture, thank goodness!
These reminded me of a Burning Man installation I saw years ago out on Black Rock City. Who else is getting flashbacks?

As I stated previously, these photos are for entertainment and inspirational purposes only. Best way to see it is to see it for yourself. And, best way to make sure that cool stuff like this continues to happen in the Coachella Valley is to support it.
