In the spirit of Coachella Valley Captured submissions being due this week (and the fact that The CVAS blogsquad loves photography) we thought it would be of interest to share with you yet another festival that is in town this week.
For the second year in a row the Palm Springs Photo Festival has returned to the Coachella Valley. The Palm Springs Photo Festival is an intense week-long event for Professional, Emerging and Serious Amateur Photographers.
Photographers that are at the top in their field set out to Palm Springs to mentor and guide emerging photographers from all over the world. And we couldn’t agree more that the Coachella Valley is the perfect landscape with the perfect lighting to set the stage for a photographer’s playground.
Although the festival is winding down this week, we thought we’d share with you that last series of events that are open to all who are interested. This could be a great opportunity for some of you young aspiring professional photographers out in the Coachella Valley…since, we know you’re out there, we saw your Coachella Valley Captured submissions!
Scroll down below to get all the info. And if you can’t make it this year, build up your portfolio and plan for it next year. The Palm Springs Photo Festival always lands a week or so after Coachella.

Once you’ve masked an area, you can replace the background, or make and adjustment that doesn’t affect the rest of the image. Once you’ve learned how to use these masking techniques, we’ll switch gears and talk about how to master the three essential retouching tools in Photoshop so that you can tackle very complex retouching jobs with ease.
