Celebrating Ten Years with Live Music & Artists of the Morongo Basin

The Creative Center is gearing up to celebrate a ten year anniversary on September 28. The celebration is playfully entitled “Celebrating A Decade of Decadent Delicacies” Group Show & Performances. This event includes live music and performances, potluck hors d’oeuvre, and an artist reception free to the public onSaturday, September 28, from 6:00pm to 10:00pm at the 29 Palms Creative Center & Gallery at 6847 Adobe Road in Twentynine Palms.

The Group Show for the ten year anniversary has a Call for Art, open to Morongo Basin visual artists interested in displaying newly created works of art. Thus far, the art submissions include a digital assemblage by Ray Yeager, found object sculpture by Robert Tucker, stained glass hanging by Doug Whitfield, and a breath taking display of crystalline glaze porcelain pottery by Nichole Vidal. The Call for Artsubmissions are being accepted from September 16 to 21, Monday through Saturday, 10:00am to 6:00pm, and can be dropped off to the 29 Palms Creative Center & Gallery at 6847 Adobe Road. We look forward to receiving many more works of art in “Celebrating A Decade of Decadent Delicacies” Group Show & Performances!
Joshua Tree Community Jazz Band 2013
* Joshua Tree Community Jazz Band 2013
The performances for the evening will range from a solo sound-art demonstration by Mark Soden, to a string-loving’ duo called The Luminators, to an amazing nine piece Joshua Tree Community Jazz Band who will relive our favorite big band songs of Count Basie, Quincy Jones, Louis Prima, Donny Hathaway, as well as their own tunes. All of which, the evening will be kicked-off with a ribbon cutting ceremony by the Joshua Tree Chamber of Commerce.
As the Creative Center looks back over the decade of working and playing with students, tourists, artists, musicians, performers and the supportive arts community that surrounds, it truly delights us to see the Morongo Basin continue to explode with creative people. We thank you and look forward to “Celebrating A Decade of Decadent Delicacies” Group Show & Performances with you. All works will be on display from September 28 to October 19 from 10am to 6pm Monday through Saturday and 10am to 3pm on Sunday.
Admission is free.
