Sunnylands Center & Gardens is happy to announce a new program: Films on the Great Lawn.
The film will be shown outside on the great lawn.
Bring blankets and lawn chairs.
Admission is free.
Doors open at 6:00 pm
Film begins at 7:00 pm
Carpooling is strongly advised. Filmgoers may bring small picnics but are reminded that no large coolers are allowed at Sunnylands. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
The film program is presented in partnership with the Palm Springs International Film Festival.
The first film, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, will be screened on Wednesday, October 23, 2013.
Directed by Frank Capra, with Jimmy Stewart, Jean Arthur and Claude Rains, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington was nominated for 11 Oscars (including Best Picture and Best Director), the film traces the experiences of a naive man (Stewart) who’s selected to fill a vacancy in the U.S. Senate, and soon finds himself enmeshed in a scandal involving corrupt pols.
