Last night The Coachella Valley Art Scene was invited to a lovely dinner at the new restaurant in town, Appetito!
Appetito is located in Palm Springs on the corner of East Palm Canyon and South El Camino Real, which is to the left of Ace Hotel, sharing a building with Koffi.
Appetito is a modern Italian deli specializing in house-made fresh pasta, salads, panini, focaccia pizza and a solid wine-beer-cocktail selection. They also use seasonal and local California produce and ingredients whenever possible.
The young Owner/Managing Partner, Patrick Service, grew up in Palm Springs. His mother is Patty Delgado-Service, owner of Las Casuelas Terraza in Palm Springs. He moved to New York for a period in time to attend school and in his workings is where he met his partner/Executive Chef to Appetito, Chad Shaner.
The food is just as unique and comforting as the atmosphere. We enjoyed pairing dishes with the speciality crafted beers on tap from Coachella Valley Brewery. Also, all coffee and espresso is from another locally owned business, Koffi.
Yes, it was delicious and as mouth-watering as it looks.
We had plenty more dishes to sample, however, you know how it is…. once it’s placed in front of you it’s hard to remember to take a photo before you scarf it down.
The desert…. just unreal. The bread, cream and sauses were rich in flavor, but sit very light in your stomach.
Truly a fantastic meal. Thank you Patrick Service for being a fabulous host.
Make sure to try out Appetito next time you’re looking for somewhere new to eat in the Coachella Valley, you’ll be very glad you did.
