This past weekend we got to experience the glory that is Splash House.

After globs of SPF 50+, plastic cups full of tequila, headaches and tan lines it’s safe to say that we survived and did it up quite gracefully (if we do say so ourselves).  However, in the act of doing so we forgot to take a lot of photos because we were caught in the moment.  ;(  Although that’s not necessarily a bad thing.  It’s actually a really good thing.  Splash House is a really fun event and  we encourage all locals, tourists, international…whoever, whatever, however to get here and experience it for yourself.

Here’s what we experienced:

Unfortunately, we missed Friday and Saturday because we had to work at the CVAS Gallery, but on Sunday we snuck out and made our way to Hard Rock Hotel just in time to catch Chromeo.

Chromeo was my personal favorite act at Coachella Fest this year and their performance at Splash House didn’t disappoint either.  In fact, they earned extra credit points for coming out in a leather jacket and overcoming their dilemma of their computer overheating in the beginning of the performance.

As you’ve probably seen via the interwebs, it eventually became a twerk competition…but I didn’t get any photos of that.  That was one of those “in the moments” moments.  😉

We were watching the Chromeo show when all of a sudden wet started getting wet.  As in… all the drunk people in the pool started splashing everyone that was on shore/deck/dry.  Everyone who was the on pavement getting wet turned around when a girl (one of the splashers) in the pool yelled loudly, “Get it?!?! SPLASH House?!?!?”

All you can do at that point is laugh it off.  And that was the general attitude that everyone had, just have fun and splash it off.

A-Track took the decks after Chromeo and turned the crowd all the way up.  We gracefully fled the scene and hopped on the trolly that took us to the next venue, The Saguaro…

As you can imagine…the trolly ride was kind of my favorite part of the whole experience.  (Check out the mobile music festival we are throwing in November).  The trollies were packed, and we even got to hear “Going to Miami” by Will Smith twice in a row while the whole bus load of party people sang along.  Pretty epic.

What’s not to love about The Saguaro, honestly.  Who was playing?  Not even sure at that point.  I just love, love, love the environment there.

Back on the bus we went to go home to a lovely BBQ at our friend’s house.

Great experience!  Already anticipating the next one.
