If you are lingering around the desert this weekend and are looking for a few things to do that are more artistically inclined here are a few recommendations for you:
at the Marks Art Center
LOCOLANDIA: October 20 – December 11, 2014
College of the Desert’s Marks Art Center is hosting “Locolandia,” an art exhibition featuring prints by award-winning political cartoonist Lalo Alcaraz, along with work by COD alumnus Eduardo Valadez Arenas and Bay Area emerging artist Rabitt, October 20 – December 11, 2014. The Alumni Association gallery within the Marks Art Center also includes Dia de los Muertos prints by COD students, alongside a “Before I Die…” interactive installation.
A closing weekend reception with Eduardo Valadez Arenas and Rabitt in attendance is being planned, along with a spoken word event on the exhibition’s final night, December 11, in conjunction with Crisalida, the McCallum Theatre’s community arts project. Details will be announced soon.
