Hands down, Kenny Irwin’s Robolights Art Installation is one of the coolest, weirdest, most bad ass things you can check out this holiday season while visiting Palm Springs.

This interactive light and recycled material sculpture installation located in Palm Springs on Kenny Irwin’s family property in the Movie Colony Neighborhood is one of the most fascinating places in the desert – might we also add that it’s officially the largest residential light installations in the nation.   It’s everything you want in a desert Christmas – funky and mind boggling.

Kenny Irwin is a kind soul and amazing artist.  Not only does he work on his Robolights installation all year long, but he is also internet famous for microwaving all types of household objects – possibly most famous for  setting to flames iPhones and iPads.  Check out his Youtube page to learn a little more about the infamous artist,  Kenny Irwin: https://www.youtube.com/user/dovetastic

ABOUT

This is not only officially the Largest Residential Light Display In The US with more than seven million lights as of 2008, it is known as the most unique light show found anywhere setting itself as an international legend through numerous media publications and I was most recently featured on Conan O’Brien in 2010. What happens when you combine Santa Claus & Robots? Though ROBOLIGHTS is not a celebration of christmas, it is a massive whimsical futuristic winter wonderland set in the North pole. Built by artist Kenny Hassan Irwin. Started in 1986 at age 12, I wanted to create a physical wonderland of lights combined with fantasy of imaginary other worldly north pole themes run by robots. The display features a life time’s worth of monumental and variety complex art that spans thirty years from the time I was very little.

Though ROBOLIGHTS is an extraordinary experience for people of all ages and back grounds to inspire imagination and creativity in people as well respect for the limited resources of our world. When you step into ROBOLIGHTS, You are taken into a parallel universe walking through immensely long zig zagging pathways over 4 acres that lead up to 230 giant robots & huge displays everywhere, rocket sleds and art created out literally close to a kiloton of our family’s & our business’s old & neighbors whom donated junk that would have otherwise ended up in a land fill.

ROBOLIGHTS is OPEN to the public from Thanksgiving 2012 to January 9th 2013 4:30-9:00PM every single day, including holidays and rainy days.

Also, the ROBOLIGHTS Day Time Artwalk is now available & open year round through private tours via Five Star Adventure Tours.
