Because weekends were made for fun….
Whether your weekends start on Thursday, Friday or Saturday, there is something going on every night throughout this upcoming weekend. Starting tonight, Thursday, there are two events going down on two ends of the valley:
On the east end of the valley, in the city of Indio, Apollo will be having an album release party. Featuring guests such as Most Hated, Phillie Mills, Aadyo, Static UPS, Dialect, and hosted by Karmic Basis. The party will take place at La Estancia 80755 Highway 111 Indio, CA . It’s an 18+ party, but don’t forget your ID. Click the image to get a blown up version.
*send party pics to email@example.com
On the west side of the valley, in the city of Palm Springs, the Thursday weekly “Electric Kingdom” will be hosting the party at J Dee’s Landing. It is free, no cover, 21+. Go out and support the homies DJ Nakai & DJ Odysey.
Location: J Dee’s Landing
340 N. Palm Canyon Dr.
Palm Springs, CA 92262
F is for Friday and Friday is for Fun.
EMA Productions will be hosting an Electro party this Friday at Oasis Nightclub in Palm Springs. Last part they threw was a huge success. So if you don’t come out to dance all night, then at least come to donate a backpack for the less fortunate kids of the Coachella Valley.
1 donated (new) backpack = 2 people in + 2 drink tickets
Do the math.
Location: Oasis Nightclub 611 S. Palm Canyon Palm Springs, CA
* The Coachella Valley Art Scene Blog will be in attendance, taking pictures and notes. Make sure to introduce yourself and give a hello =)
In the mood for some rock? How about some high desert rock n roll? I guarentee this will be awesome.
Same night, the desert hip hop scene makes it rain at the Desert Storm show. Rap groups such as the Undiscovered Poets, Three Strykes, Exact Oppisites and DJ duo group the Vinyl Assasins will all be sharing the stage. Only $5 to enter + a chance at free giveaways. Get there at 9pm because the last call is at 1:30.
Location: Old La Quinta Bar & Grill
78065 Main Street
La Quinta, CA 92253
Going on ALL WEEKEND LONG:
Palm Springs Tattoo Convention general show information
HOURS: Friday: 3pm – 11pm
Saturday: 11am – 11pm
Admission: $20 a day or come Friday and buy the 3 day pass for $50
Okay, so the date has been moved back one day from their original Friday party to a new and improved Saturday party. But, that is not a bad thing, in fact…it’s a BETTER thing! Saturday brings the opportunity for everyone to check out Friday’s events and for more bands to join lineup. With a change in schedule, the desert’s indie rock bands the Pterodactyls and A Map of the Chelsea Leaf have been added to Mira La Luz and Ol’ Harbour’s already line up. Artists will be The Date Farmers, Alisa Acosta-Putz, Andrew Felix, Kylie Knight, and Daniel Lugo. Word on the street is that Planet Lunch will be on the turntables too. Sounds like a show that you don’t want to miss….
*PLUS* The Coachella Valley Art Scene Blog will be there to support. So, come by and give me a “hello!” I will be bringing my camera and will be looking to interview as many people as my memory stick can handle. =)
Location: 45-130 Smurr St. Indio, CA (behind the Indio Public Library)
Also on Saturday…
