What happens when a bunch of young creative individuals come together for one night?  The forces collide.  The runways explode.  And the magic happens all right in front of our eyes.

This, my friends, is the birth of a new creative dimension to the Coachella Valley art community that has been under the radar for far too long.  The young Fashion Stylists, Hair Stylists and Makeup Artists have been laying low in the scene for some time, however, all they needed one night to show off all their talents to really gain the exposure and credit they deserve.  The night when they were put in the spotlight, instead of behind the scenes or inside the salons, was on September 16th inside the Ace Hotel’s Commune.  This was when the forces collided and the talent was showcased.

Fashion Weeks are in major cities all over the world … and even here in Palm Desert on El Paseo… but, after observing the event, When Forces Collide, I see an uprise of a new generation of movers and shakers on the horizon.  It’s amazing to see a group of creative young individual work together push each other to create something really spectacular not just for their own enjoyment, but to benefit and give back to the American Cancer Foundation.  When a community comes together it’s truly a beautiful thing.   Cheers to all who contributed.

a few words from one of the event coordinators...

“What started as an idea thrown around in conversation, became a night to remember.

“When Forces Collide” was an event that surpassed many expectations. It was a production unlike any other.  In collaboration with local talent, we were able to raise over $3,000 for The American Cancer Society. With cancer survivors walking the runway, this night was dedicated to them and to make then feel glamorous. Hair, makeup, art, and young talent is shown to be the perfect formula for success.

It was nice to see the youth of the Coachella Valley come together for a good cause. Without help from our community, this production could not have happend. A BIG thank you to all who donated thier effort and time.”
