Thanksgiving. All political agendas and allegations aside, Thanksgiving is a lovely holiday. It’s one that celebrates being thankful for all that you got and sharing that appreciate with your loved ones. This weekend, share your love for culture, for blogs (hehe), for music, for art, for community with your family. Below are a list of events going on around town this weekend that are organized and featuring all local talent with artistic flare and low prices. You know what it is… it’s a family affair that is better known as a Reunion! World famous, DJ Day, rocks the two turn tables along with El DJ Magneto and DJ Aimlo (all DJs are locals, are are fantastic). This just might be the most awesome event of the century. Nothing beats a warm Snuggie/Blankie/Sleeping Bag and a cold one. This Friday make sure to bring the whole family out. Here is the Facebook invite info: Drag yourself out from your Tryptophan-induced, shopping battle-fatigued coma and be completely awesome in the First Annual Black Friday Snuggie Pub Crawl in loverly downtown Palm Springs. Creativity is completely encouraged for this event but a Snuggie is MANDATORY! The Snuggie can be purchased at any Walgreens, CVS, JCPenny’s, Costco, Kmart, Toys”R”Us or Kohl’s for $14.99. The crawl will start at Flaherty’s Bar & Grill around 9:30 pm then move onto the Village Pub before the GTL’s come out. From there, we’ll move on to NYPD to get more itis and end up at J. Dee’s Landing. The true Snug Thugs may find themselves at the Spa Casino afterward to try and win back their Christmas depleted funds. Certainly not, but probably should be, sponsored by Snuggie. Howie Pyro is not so much creepy as he is talented. But he is definitely both. This Friday he will be spinning all 45’s inside the Amigo Room. World Premiere of the Enemy Mind film!!! It’s a free event at the Ace Hotel’s Commune this Sunday evening Stop by before you hit the road and that dreaded traffic back on the 10 Fwy. Renowned independent sci-fi masterpiece Enemy Mind premieres at Ace Palm Springs, screening with local entries for the 48 Hour Film Project. Enemy Mind, featuring Oscar winning actor Ernest Borgnine, is already gaining enormous critical acclaim, heads above larger budget, mainstream sci-fi films. It was shot entirely on location in the Coachella Valley on a budget of $9,000, and is being lauded for its masterful character development, unprecedented in the sci-fi genre.
