Tonight!  The Michael H. Lord gallery located in Downtown Palm Springs is having a special show in conjunction with the world famous… Modernism Week!

This is going to be an exceptionally fascinating show as the gallery will celebrate the work of an architect that defined and whose legacy will forever live on strong in the desert… Albert Frey.

For all those unfamiliar with the works of Frey, I have added some photos to this post to possibly spark your interest.  Personally, I am excited to check this show out and hopefully I’ll see you there.

About the show:

(February 12, 2011)—Palm Springs, CA—The Michael Lord Gallery is pleased to announce the upcoming exhibition “The Photography of Albert Frey” during Modernism Week from February 17-27, 2011. A special reception will take place on Friday, February 25th from 6-8 p.m. and everyone is invited to attend.

Known for his pioneering architectural work in Palm Springs as one of the original creators of “desert modernism,” this Frey exhibit will highlight photographs selected from his personal archives. In addition to images of his renowned building projects, Albert Frey created many self-portraits which will be on view. Curated by Frey’s long-time companion and co-author, Jean Farrar, this exhibition will offer a more intimate perspective of the celebrated modernist. The architectural photography of Leland Y. Lee as well as artwork by Mathew Sumich and Nel Ivancich will also be on view.
