Last Monday the super kind and super in-shape folks over at lululemon in Palm Desert asked if we would like to be apart of their community in-store fashion show/event and because The Coachella Valley Art Scene is a fan of fitness, art, community and all things lululemon we of course said, “yes!!“.
Also featured at the event was local artist, Aaron Hansen of Ancient Youth. Aaron brought his mobile screen-printing production and personalized each free tote bag that lululemon visitors brought to him. Each screen print was a phrase or sentence from lululemon’s manifesto. Each one very positive and inspiring, some of them were even designed by the artist himself. So, all the Ancient Youth fans got a little piece of art from Aaron Hansen – super cool!
From there people could take their bags and bring them over to The Coachella Valley Art Scene’s craft table and further embellish upon their freshly screen printed tote bags. Here is where puff paints, studs, bedazzles, gems, ribbons and tons of other crafty things were offered. In addition to crafting up something handmade, people were also provided art materials to make their own chakra flags.
And of course, all of this was free!!!!!!
After the crafting, it was time for the lululemon fashion show….
…local athletic stars from across the Coachella Valley modeled the clothes.
When the fashion show toned down, it was time for an intimate candlelit yoga class.
All of this was free to all who attend.
Lululemon was really awesome to bring local artist Aaron Hansen and local blogger/community crafter The Coachella Valley Art Scene. We are so thankful for the opportunity and look forward to future crafting & yoga sessions in the future!
